WHAT IS A HYBRID SOLAR SYSTEM?
Hybrid Solar Panel Systems still generate power in the same way that a system that was grid-tied would do, but they also use special Hybrid Invertors that store excess energy on to batteries before sending the rest of the excess energy back to the grid. These batteries can then be used in a blackout or when weather conditions or time of day will stop the solar panels from producing energy.
The term Hybrid is traditionally used when explaining an object that generates energy from two sources, many cars are now Hybrid cars using both battery power and gasoline. In the world of Solar panels though, ‘Hybrid’ refers to the use of an innovative system that uses a combination of batteries and solar power to run your property and interact with the power grid.
